15 Dec Clinical Autonomic Disorders Fellowship

The Autonomic Disorders Fellowship Program, under the directorship of Steven Vernino, M.D., Ph.D., is a one-year clinical program that provides training in the diagnosis and management of disorders of the autonomic nervous system. The fellowship emphasizes a comprehensive approach to multidisciplinary patient care and clinical/translational research.
Fellows will gain an understanding of the interplay among neuroanatomy, cardiovascular physiology, and pharmacology. Fellows will also become proficient in neurophysiological autonomic testing.
The curriculum includes regularly scheduled teaching conferences and case presentations. Fellows will work in several research laboratories with faculty members who are international experts in autonomic disorders.
Eligibility Requirements
Applicants must:
- Have an M.D. degree (or equivalent) from an LCME-accredited medical school
- Have satisfactorily completed an ACGME-accredited adult or pediatric neurology residency program
- Be board-eligible or board-certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology
- Possess a current Texas Medical License.
Foreign medical graduates must be ECFMG-certified and eligible for J-1 visa sponsorship.
How to Apply
Applications are generally accepted 18 months before the anticipated start of training. A complete application must contain the following:
- Neurology fellowship application form
- Personal statement
- CV
- ECFG certificate (if applicable)
- Three letters of recommendation (one from your current program director)
- USMLE score report or equivalent
