The AAS is seeking nominations for several important opportunities. The application deadline for these opportunities are coming up.
The AAS is seeking nominations for Fellows of the American Autonomic Society (FAAS). Election as a FAAS recognizes clinical, scientific and professional accomplishments, volunteer leadership, and service. Fellowship is open to clinicians, scientists and allied professionals with a major and productive interest in autonomic disorders and sciences. Deadline: September 1, 2024.
We are also seeking nominations for the Felicia Axelrod Investigator Award. This award recognises an outstanding scientist with a track record of significant contributions to the field of autonomic science at the Assistant Professor level. This award acknowledges excellence in autonomic research for an AAS member poised to be the next leader in the field. Deadline: September 1, 2024.
We are seeking nominations for new Members of the AAS Board of Directors. The Board of Directors of AAS is responsible for defining the priorities of the society and planning and directing society activities including the annual meeting. The Board meets monthly (virtually) and at the annual meeting. Board members serve for 3-year terms and may be reappointed for one additional term. Nominees should have evidence of ongoing participation in AAS activities, including annual meeting, AAS committees and/or Special Interest Groups. Please note the following requirements for board membership:
- Must be an AAS member in good standing
- Must be able to participate in monthly phone/video board meetings AND attend the annual meeting
- Must be willing to dedicate 3-4 hours per month to board duties including: meeting planning, abstract reviews, and other board-related projects
- Expect to serve a 3-year term without significant time away
If you are interested in serving on the Board of Directors, please send your CV and a paragraph (maximum 1 page) describing your qualifications, interest and reason for wanting to be a member of the Board to amber@americanautonomicsociety.org by September 1, 2024.
