Trainee: Ryan Miller, PhD Candidate, University of Calgary
Question: What is your research on?
Answer: The goal of my research is to create novel, non-pharmacological therapies for treating spinal cord injury in the emergency room.
Q: How did you get to where you are today?
A: After spending time with populations living with neurologic injury and disease, I wanted to contribute to the body of knowledge improving their conditions and quality of life.
Q: What advice do you have for new trainees?
A: Patient informed research is important! Collaborating with community members allows to target problems specific to the population you are looking to help. Have conversations early on.
Q: What are your favorite pastimes or hobbies?
A: Alpine Fly Fishing.
