Autonomic Nervous System Month of Learning

Autonomic Nervous System Month of Learning

We are excited to invite you to join us for a Month of Learning (MoL) about the autonomic nervous system (ANS). If you would like to brush up on the basics of the ANS before your fall teaching, here is your opportunity. For more research-focused groups, this is an excellent opportunity for new graduate students or postdocs joining an ANS-focused lab to learn the basics (or for more established folks to have a refresher!).

By signing up, you commit to dedicating time each week starting July 27th to watch six ANS content update videos narrated by Dr. Sue Barman of Michigan State University, ask clarification questions in a discussion forum, learn about great teaching resources, connect virtually with other ANS educators, and listen to four live webinar speakers (sessions will be recorded) to learn about clinical aspects of the ANS.

August 8, 2 pm ET

Lacy Alexander: Autonomic regeneration of human skin blood flow
Roland Thijs:  Basics of orthostatic control of blood pressure and clinical features of autonomic dysfunction

August 22, 2 pm ET

Jason Carter:  Stress, anxiety, and sleep: role of the autonomic nervous system
Caroline Rickards: Military applications: autonomic control during hemorrhage
